Kerala is shoppers paradise. Kerala is a place for shopper’s place. There are lot of handicrafts that could be bought from the place. Pickles, tea, chocolates, honey that are made in Kerala are very famous. Kerala Sarees and Mundus are available at the Kasavukadas. The snacks of Kozhikode are very famous. The Biriyani and chips are very delicious.

Cashews are there at Kollam. Thekkady, Kattapana and Wayanad trade bamboo products. You can see various products are made from Bamboo like the pen stands, bags, containers, musical instruments, handicrafts etc. There are many places where you may buy the handicrafts.


If you are on a beach, look out for the stalls that are on the shores of the beach. Kerala food and also various models of handicrafts could be found in this place. You can see different crafts that are made with different kinds of materials. You might explore various architectures.

Jew Street, Cochin
If you are visiting Fort Cochin, then you will see the left out buildings, palaces and many other places. The Portugese and Dutch inhabited here and you will see their dwelling. Various antiques could be bought from here.

Spice Market, Cochin
A variety of spices like cardamom, cloves and pepper and ginger might be bought from here. Kerala is very famous for the spices that are produced. One of the main exports of Kerala is spices. Drying, sorting and packing the spices can be seen in the spice market. It will be great if you carry some spices from Kerala on your way back home.

Kanhirode Weaving Cooperative, Kannur
This is a great place if you are going to purchase some hand woven cloth material of Kerala. The Kerala handloom that is run by the government of Kerala is very demanding. You can see various clothes that are hand woven. Bed linen, upholstery, curtain material, shirtings, colourful lungis are all available from Kanhirode Weaving Cooperative.

Mitthayi Theruvu, Kozhikode
The streets got its name as you can see many shops that make sweets. Mitthayi Theruvu means the Sweet Market. There are halwas, laddoos and many other kinds of sweets. You may also buy the international brands like Cadburys, Nestle etc. Various snacks items are also available from this place.
