Silicon Valley, Silicon Coast to Global Village, Kerala Will Broaden IT and Tourism

Rs 100 crore was made annually when the Technopark was build. Now it is having around 125 companies. While taking the IT giants, Hyderabad and Bangalore are the IT giants in south India. In Trivandrum Technopark, there are 3,000 people employed. For starting IP companies, chief minister Oomen Chandy announced in Delhi yesterday the first Startup Village will be set up soon. The village will be based on public-private partnership. This will be located at the Kinfra Hi-Tech Park in Kalamassery.

This will be situated close to Smart City; a special economic zone will be built by Tecom. There will be 15,000 square feet of space for the Kinfra Hi-tech park. This will be a joint venture project between the two people. From the Kochi airport, the park is about 20 kilometres. The launch of Global village is expected to increase income to the government through tourism. The Kerala Tourism Department will also work closely with the Global Village to increase the tourism business.

For those who visit the global village for the official purpose could be exposed to the tourism of Kerala. By doing this, the Kerala tourism department could be made more popular to a great extend.
