The Kerala Tourism Department is planning for increasing the tourism of the state. The government is also planning to increase the reach by conducting various activities at different tourism destinations. There are many pending tourism projects at Idukki. Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar inaugurated the ‘Munnar Mela 2012’. The fest will be conducted at the Tata Tea Ground.
The reasons for the delay of tourism projects in the area will be checked. The minister also added that the projects will be implemented without wasting time. A Flower Show organised in connection with the mela and the minister inaugurated that. Rupees 9 Crore has been allocated for taking up tourism. Rupees 4.88 Crore will be used for improving the tourism facilities of the state itself. As large number of Tamil speaking people lives in Munnar, the minister hopes that such events will help to develop strong bonds between the people of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
