Kerala is undoubtedly is one of among top three tourist destinations of India. There are many places at the northern tip of Kerala where you can see histories. There were battles by the French, Dutch and British at the place. Six months ago, Taj’s new spa resort was opened. One of the reasons why the place became a tourist destination is the Bekal Fort. Every year thousands of tourists visit the place. Taj’s new spa resort is also attracting many tourists.

Bekal is situated 50km from Mangalore and is accessible via rail and roads. The neighboring town is Kasargode to its north and Calicut to its south. There are many jewelry shops and Villas near the tourist destinations. There is a narrow highway that leads to Karnataka. Bekal is now considered as an alternative to Goa. Plans are being made to increase the tourist inflow to Bekal as there are large demands from tourists.

Bekal Development Corporation is choking out plans to improve the tourism facilities. A large area has been acquired and then auctioned it. Taj group owns the 25-acre property Khanna Builders is building resorts at Rs 180 crore. When the construction is completed, it will be the biggest spa destination in the south. By the bank of the Kappil River, Jiva spa will have about 20 villas.

This could be considered as one of the best designed properties in India. There is a model of Kettuvallam placed at roof top of every villa. Australian architect Nick Juniper designed the villa and you can see middle-eastern style and local blend. There is a great demand for such villas that stands apart in the construction as well as the facilities it is having. So Kerala tourism is competing with Goa to get more tourists to the state.
