Chief Secretary K. Jayakumar made a discussion with the Canadian High Commissioner Stewart Beck. Discussions were held with Canada for using the expertise in information technology (IT). The waste water management is also one of the areas where active cooperation could be beneficial. At Kerala, there will be a high level delegation for discussions.
The possibilities of various sectors were discussed in the meeting. According to the Chief Secretary, the IT sector has great scope and will depend on co operation. The Canadian technology could be used for achieving Kerala’s objectives. There are also plans for team Kerala to visit Canada.
There will be global connect program. This September, the ‘Emerging Kerala’ will be conducted. By making ties with Canada, the tourism of Kerala could be also made popular. Kerala receives a good percentage of Canadian tourists every year. By increasing the mutual business in various sectors like IT and waste water management, the income could be also escalated.
