Boat Jetty Will Be Renovated For Tourists Travelling To Fort Cochin and Mattanchery

The Kerala Tourism Department is working on the maintenance of the tourist destinations. Fort Cochin and Mattanchery are one of the main tourist destinations of the state. Most of the tourist makes use of waterways to travel. Due to this Boat Jetty is always busy with the tourists. There are water-logging problems near the Boat Jetty. Hibi Eden, MLA said that the steps will be taken to remove water-logging problem of the place.

High-mast lights will be installed o the place. Private tourist boats are also welcome and safety, law and order issues related to it will be checked. Kerala Tourism gave permission for allowing the private boats in 2009. The stagnant water reach jetty and it cause issues. A meeting will be held in Thiruvananthapuram with the Minister to resolve the issue. Temporary number will be allowed to Jetty. There will be Food kiosks so that tourists can have some food while waiting for the boat. This will also benefit the passengers too.

Full-fledged power distribution to the place is also under consideration. The water connection will be checked and make sure that is available round the clock. The development of jetty to a great extend is also under consideration. The lighting of the place is very poor. This becomes very difficult during night and the shelter facilities might be also increased.

The tourists make use of the Jetty while traveling to Fort Cochin and Mattancherry. By increasing the facilities in the jetty and transportation facilities, more number of tourists could be bought to the area. It is due to this reason, the government is planning to increase the facilities int eh jetty. Tourism Minister A. P. Anilkumar will be visiting jetty on Friday. He will also put forward some development activities of the jetty.
